Typical Emergency Response Planning projects

Integrated Response Planning - Petrochemical Plant

AMAI was hired by an 80,000 barrel per day organic chemical manufacturing facility to assess emergency preparedness and to develop an effective incident response capability for fire, chemical and other emergencies. Specific activities included:

  • Preparation of OSHA Emergency Response Plan, SPCC Plan, OPA 90 Facility Response Plan and RCRA Contingency Plan
  • Preparation of Fire Prevention Plan, testing of fixed fire system and development of SOPs for fire system inspection and maintenance as per NFPA guidelines
  • Development of training schedule designed to meet all applicable EPA, OSHA and USCG training requirements
SPCC Plan

AMAI was retained by the U.S. Army to prepare a comprehensive Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plan for a major military installation. The plan addressed multiple areas of bulk oil

and hazardous substance storage and satisfied the requirements of the Clean Water Act, RCRA, CERCLA and TSCA as well as State of New Jersey requirements.

Preparation of the plan included identification of source areas, human health and environmental receptors and migration pathways. The adequacy of existing engineered systems, operational controls and spill response procedures were evaluated.

Recommendations for capital improvements and operational modifications were developed to improve the facility's spill prevention programs and emergency preparedness.
